The proposals presented will be dealt with at an internal assessment meeting of the IAU’s Directorate of Scientific Coordination and Environmental Management (DICGA).
In this evaluation, greater importance will be given to the following aspects: the contribution of the proposal to the main research topics identified by SCAR; its link with ongoing projects of the IAU or other Antarctic National Programs; and how the proposal integrates the desired characteristics of an Antarctic research project in Uruguay (see NIP Guidelines below). To this end, it is necessary to consider the following documents for the submission of proposals:
- Lineamientos del Programa Nacional Antártico para el desarrollo de la actividad científica de Uruguay en la Antártida
- A roadmap for Antarctic and Southern Ocean science for the next two decades and beyond (2014)
- SCAR’s Environmental Code of Conduct for Terrestrial Scientific Field Research in Antarctica (2018)

The deadline for submission of proposals is 15 March. All proposals submitted after this deadline will be considered for the next Antarctic Summer Campaign. The proposer will be informed of the decision within a maximum of 15 days from the date of submission.
Accepted proposals will go on to the next stage of presentation and evaluation of the project.
