Aviator Colonel Alvaro Pereira

Uruguayan Air Force Officer, currently Aviator Colonel.

He served as a junior officer at the Air Brigade II for 5 years stationed at the Advanced Flight Squadron and the Squadron Liaison light transport. Later he was stationed at the Air Brigade I during 13 years providing services in the Air Squadron N° 5 (Helicopter) occupying different positions and becoming Commander of the same one. He also served in the Joint Defense Staff (ESMADE) and the Air Operations Center (COA).

He served in UN Missions as Chief of Air Component in Eritrea and Ethiopia during 2005 and 2007 and in the Democratic Republic of Congo during the year 2015.

Was graduated from the Joint Staff Course at the Institute for Hemispheric Security Cooperation (WHINSEC) in Georgia, USA.

Actually is Chief of the Sub-Chief for Operations of the General Staff of the Air Force.

Since May 2016 he is a Counselor of the Uruguayan Antarctic Institute.
